Just got back from Prince Caspian! Woooo loved it!
(warning: spoilers!!)
It threw me off a bit the way they played around with the timeline of things, but I really like what they added to the characters, making them interact earlier on and in more capacity (heck in the book the girls don't even meet Caspian until the very end!!).
I think the beginning was a bit too rushed, though... I wonder if people who never read the book will fully take away what was happening at first... right away I knew what was going on, but I know my dad was like "oh, is that Baby Caspian?" and I was like "no, that's Baby 'Hey-Now-We-Can-
Kill-Caspian'." I guess it was explained well enough eventually, but I was kinda worried that at first people would be completely confused.
Things I had been wary about going into it:
Caspian's age: still not sure I liked how much older they made him (heck he should be like, Edmund's age, not older than Peter) and I'm not sure what it added to the story to change that other than the obvious "LET'S MAKE A NEW HEARTTHROB FOR THE GIRLS!!" (but sadly, I will fully admit that I heart this heartthrob none-the-less, dangit

). We'll say I'm still torn on this decision, because the idea of a young kid leading a rebellion against his people and becoming king is kind of the point of it all. I guess they kinda did that with the Pevensies in the first movie, though, so maybe they didn't want to rehash the "kid" thing...
Caspian/Susan: I really wasn't fond of the idea when I'd heard it, especially because of the weirdness of the fact that Caspian should really be, like, 12 or something like that. And I don't really like the idea of throwing in non-existant romances just for the sake of having a movie romance to make the fangirlies swoon. But they didn't make it blatant, it was just subtle sort of crushing for the most part, so I'm not so annoyed with the idea anymore. Had they immediately fallen into each others' arms and made-out... then I probably would have been seriously mad (and Lewis would be rolling in his grave!!). But it's not like I blame em... both of em are stinkin' pretty beyond belief, so it only makes sense for them to be eyeing each other in teenaged swoonage.

White Witch Summoning: hmm. I'm so torn on this one. The way it played out was interesting, but the way it really changes how you view characters, I'm not sure if it was a good idea. Very torn...
Things I was excited to see:
Peter vs. Miraz: awwwwesome as I imagined it... there were a few changes to the scene but I don't think it suffered for it at all (with exception, maybe, to Miraz instructing his men to do exactly what they'd been planning against him anyway... I'm not sure I liked that, though I suppose it made sense to show him wanting to win no matter what)
Aslan meets Trumpkin: noooooo he didn't kitty-attack him! that part made me laugh so much in the book, I wanted to see it in real life and it never happened.

Things that took me by surprise:
The gateway between worlds: The original "sticks attached to each other" portal really set it up as a serious faith thing, and a magical twisty tree instead really kind of kills that because they so clearly saw that it was a magical thing right from the start... but darn it all if the magical twisty tree wasn't REALLY COOL anyway!

Edmund totally wins at life in this one... man he sure has grown up and is now smacking some sense into his older brother this time! LOL I love it!

Got a question. I'm still loving your Dance Rawr Dance Draygon, and I was wondering if I could use it for the graphics for the unofficial PureVolume for FF5.
Cheers!
